My last 3D work on my collage years
It’s crazy that school is coming to an end. I finish my final piece of 3-D work for my college career; I’m proud of it because I have never worked so abstractedly with clay before. There’s no concrete bass to it. It’s just lines and weird-looking shapes I connect at the bottom of the pieces. I want to push myself outside my comfort zone. I broke boundaries with my work. I felt uncomfortable doing this. In the beginning I thought the clay would dry much faster. I was nervous that I wouldn’t be able to attach it correctly to the base, but luckily it worked out, and I got the shapes I wanted. I sanded it down with a large sandpaper grit and painted it gold. I tried to hide the little bumps from the natural clay I’ve been using, so I painted it intensely to mask some of the ridges.
